NEVILLE BRADSHAW AUGUST 'CATCH UP'

Well I’m glad to say it’s been another great month of racing. We have had 3 weekends on the trot racing in the 3 main championships here in the UK. Training on the bike has been a bit tough lately, after my crash at Whitby, my left index finger has been getting progressively worse, so I went to the hospital, and it turns out I’ve snapped the main ligament, which pulled a piece of bone along with it when it snapped, so it’s been pain management and doing enough to get by during the week.

First up we had round 5 of the Red Bull Pro Nationals at Canada Heights, which is my favourite circuit in the UK, so I was looking forward to a good weekend. I was fastest in both practises and ended up qualifying 2nd. The races went good, although I had a lot of work to do coming through the pack, I came away with the overall win on the day, and managed to take home the red plate and championship lead, so I was stoked on that.

Next up was the penultimate round of the British Championships at the sandy Hawkstone park circuit. It was tough going for me and I had to work hard for the podium, after poor starts and a first turn crash in moto 2.I came through the pack really good in all 3 races. I felt my speed and fitness were great, I ended up 3rd overall, and managed to close down another 5 points on Elliot Banks Browne in the championship chase.

Finally this weekend we had the penultimate round of the British Masters at Brookthorpe in Gloucester, a track I have never been to before, it was really fast and stayed relatively smooth through the day which made the racing close. Again I struggled out the gate, in race 1 I got back to 2nd, and in race 2 I came from way back again, and rode really good to get back to 2nd posting the quickest lap in that one.. So I went 2-2 for 2nd overall, and was happy with my feeling on the bike.

So now we have a weekend off after 5 weeks of straight racing, but the next 2 weeks are going to be spent testing with the motor, and trying to get my starts back on track, to give ourselves the best chance at the final 4 races of the season. At the minute we are 11 podiums on the bounce, so I’m hoping to keep that running, and hopefully in the next catch up, I will have wrapped up the masters title, and be one step closer to that 3rd red bull pro nationals title. We are going all in.

Thanks to everyone for all the support. Much appreciated.
